Progress Requirements

Passing requirements are strictly followed according to the guidelines of the Department of Basic Education. All formal assessment tasks, as outlined by departmental guidelines, are administered, and all marks are entered into the national data system, known as SA-SAMS (currently integrated with D6).

Mark processing is done automatically by this system, according to the weighting assigned to each possible subsection of the different subjects.

Reports

Reports are also compiled using the SA-SAMS data system (currently integrated with D6) and issued accordingly. Traditionally, reports at Aliwal-Noord Primary School are distributed on the last day of each term. Learners receive a hard copy of their report, but a digital version is also available from the class teacher upon request. If a learner is unable to collect their report, it will be available on Day 1 of the following term. Only at the end of the year are uncollected reports posted or emailed.
