Facilities

No school can function effectively without the necessary amenities and facilities. At Aliwal North Primary School, there are 21 classrooms equipped with digital projectors and laptops, enabling high-quality teaching. There is also an art classroom and a media center for further enrichment of our learners.

In the administrative block, there are offices for the principal, deputy principal, and secretaries. Stationery and textbooks are provided from the bookroom, and teachers also have access to the Head of Department’s office, which is equipped with a laptop and a photocopier. Various departmental directives and curriculum-related circulars are also stored here.

The Foundation Phase has its own separate toilets, in addition to those for Grades 4–7 learners. The school is equipped with an alarm system and a CCTV camera system. Copies are made in the reprographics room. Sports and social functions are held on the wooden deck. There is also an aftercare center where learners can stay until 17:00 to wait for their parents, complete homework, and enjoy lunch.

During breaks, learners can purchase snacks at the school tuck shop. In terms of sports facilities, the school has 7 netball courts, 2 rugby fields, 2 hockey fields, cricket nets, athletics training facilities, and 4 tennis courts.

The school kitchen provides tea and coffee for staff, as well as meals for the feeding scheme. Vehicles and equipment are stored in 3 garages. School uniforms are sold at the Alie Clothing school shop.

The school also has a fully equipped computer center and a sickbay. Hall events, parent meetings, and other gatherings are held in the school hall.
