At​ ​Aliwal-North Primary School , we strive to provide every learner with all the required textbooks for their respective subjects. Unfortunately, we are classified by the Department of Education as a Quintile 5 school, which means we receive very limited financial assistance. 

We therefore need to make provision in our annual budget to purchase textbooks from school fees. Each learner is held responsible for the textbooks they receive, and damaged or lost books must be replaced. Subject teachers keep records of the textbooks for their respective subjects. 

At the end of each year, learners receive a stationery list outlining the supplies required for the following year. Parents may choose where they would like to purchase the stationery, or they may buy a stationery pack from the school. These packs contain everything that is needed for the new school year.
