ALIES VS NKOSI & HOLY CROSS
The ALIES rugby teams hosted two local schools at Alie-Land. On Tuesday, 4 August, the ALIES faced Nkosi Sikelela Private School, followed by another home fixture against Holy Cross Primary School on Thursday, 6 August. Both fixtures provided the players with valuable match experience and an opportunity to test themselves against local opposition.
Two days later, LSAN returned to the field at Alie-Land, this time against Holy Cross. The u/11B team put in a determined performance but unfortunately lost 10–29. The players continued to work together throughout the match and gained valuable experience. The u/13B team also showed plenty of determination against Holy Cross in a much closer encounter. LSAN fought hard throughout the match before eventually going down 32–46. The players never gave up and continued to compete until the end.

Tjokkiehokkiedag in Bloemfontein ’n groot sukses.
The players stepped onto the field with great enthusiasm and pride. From the first whistle to the final game, they played with passion, determination and great teamwork.
Alongside the field, the spirit was just as strong. Supporters, parents and coaches cheered on their teams and created a truly special atmosphere.
Thank you to the organisers for an amazing festival! The Alies truly enjoyed every moment and are already looking forward to the next one!

o/13 A RUGBY: “WIMPY-AAND”
Maandag, 17 Augustus 2026, het die o/13A rugbyspelers weereens die geleentheid gehad om as kelners by Aliwal-Noord se Wimpy op te tree.
This is a yearly event that serves as a fundraiser for the Dads and Lads tour to Jeffrey’s Bay.
Players get to experience what it is to be a waiter and what the job really entails. It is not that easy to be on your feet for such a long time and to content with the whims of difficult customers. This the players came to understand, and after the evening they all said that they have much more symphaty with waiters and that they will tip them generously in future.
Luckily the regular waiters at the Wimpy were there to help get the orders right.
A big thank you also to the Wimpy for sponsoring our u/13A team rugby jerseys. We appreciate the gesture.
We would also like to thank mr. Wiehan Janse Van Rensburg of Berg Sports for his generous sponsor of kit bags and rugby shorts.

PA-EN-SEUNTOERE / DADS-AND-LADS TOUR 2026
The ALIES played four matches during the day. In their opening encounter, they faced Kirkwood and unfortunately lost 10–0. They then took on the hosts, Stulting, where they suffered a 20–0 defeat. The team refused to give up and responded brilliantly in their third match. Through determination and good teamwork, LSAN secured a well-deserved 15–5 victory over Paul Sauer. Their final match of the day was a closely contested encounter against Jeffreys Bay, with LSAN narrowly losing 5–0.
The ALIES u/9 team and coaches would also like to express their sincere gratitude to all the sponsors who contributed towards the team and the weekend in any way. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated.
A special word of thanks must also go to the fathers for their incredible support. Their encouragement from the sidelines, willingness to help and continued commitment mean a great deal to both the players and coaches.

o/11:
The ALIES u/11 rugby team went on their annual Dads and Lads trip on the weekend of the 21st to the 23rd and participated in a sports day hosted by Stulting Primary School in Humansdorp, where they played their final matches of the year. The team ended their rugby year on a positive note with two impressive victories from their three matches.
To mark the end of the rugby year, the school also recognised three players for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the team:
- Forward of the Year: Matthew Bradfield
- Backline Player of the Year: Bakoena Phailane
- Player of the Year: Jacobus Odendaal
Congratulations to these three players on their well-deserved awards. Their hard work and commitment throughout the year made a valuable contribution to the team.
Elke bydrae, groot of klein, word opreg waardeer.
Another rugby year has now come to an end for ALIES’ u/11 team. The players can look back proudly on the experience, growth, friendships and memories they have gained throughout the year. They approached their final matches with pride and represented LSAN with honour until the very end.
Mr. Dimitri Prousaloglou of OK Liquors also sponsored a bottle of wine which was auctioned and fetched a price of R2600. Thank you, sir. We appreciate you.
To all the dads selling raffle tickets, as well as everyone that bought a ticket, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You certainly invested in the future of the players.
Please support our sponsors. We will surely be back next year! Hope to see you all!!

o/13 PA & SEUN RUGBYTOER 2026
It was probably the first time in a long time that each player’s father or guardian accompanied them on this tour.
The team participated in the annual Stulting Primary School Sports day. They played three shortened matches on the day.
The team drew two matches against Gamtoosvallei, as well as against Jeffrey’s Bay. The score in both matches were 5 points each. Unfortunately, we lost against a very strong Stulting side with 30 points to 0.
KG Mayende was awarded the backline player of the year, and Liyabona, the Dominator Makisi won the award for player of the year. Congratulations to these players.
Thank you once again to all our sponsors of the weekend and the year.
