Op Saterdag 9 Mei, het Alies se netbalspanne kragte gemeet teen Cradock se netbalspanne. It was day full of good netball and great competition. Al die spelers het hul beste gegee en met trots die skool se naam hoog gehou.

RUGBY IN ALIE-LAND
LSAN se rugbyspanne het op Saterdag, 9 Mei, na Cradock gereis vir ’n dag vol uitdagende wedstryde teen sterk Cradock-spanne. Ondanks die koue en taai kompetisie, het die spelers met trots hul skool se kleure verdedig en groot veggees op die veld getoon.
The u/7 teams gave their all against well-organised Cradock sides. LSAN A lost 0–10 to Cradock A, while LSAN B put up a brave fight but narrowly lost 4–7 against Cradock B. The young players showed excellent determination and gained valuable experience from the matches.
Die o/8-spanne het vir groot opgewondenheid gesorg met twee uitstekende oorwinnings. LSAN A het ’n spannende wedstryd met 2–1 gewen teen Cradock A, terwyl LSAN B ’n indrukwekkende 7–2 oorwinning oor Cradock B behaal het. Die spelers het met selfvertroue gespeel en goeie spanwerk gelewer.
For the u/9 side, it proved to be a difficult encounter against a very strong Cradock team, and they unfortunately went down 0–33. Despite the result, the players never gave up and continued working hard until the final whistle.
By die o/11-spanne het LSAN A goeie karakter getoon in hul wedstryd teen Cradock A, maar uiteindelik met 10–26 verloor. LSAN B het ook teen sterk opposisie te staan gekom en met 0–27 teen Cradock C vasgeval. Beide spanne het egter aanhou veg en waardevolle lesse uit die wedstryde geleer.
The u/13 teams brought the day to a close with two very different results. LSAN A faced a powerful Cradock A side and unfortunately lost 0–52. LSAN B, however, bounced back impressively and secured a well-deserved 29–12 victory over Cradock C. Their hard work and determination were clearly visible on the field.
HOKKIE / HOCKEY IN ALIE-LAND
Ons dogters- en seunshokkiespanne het op Saterdag, 9 Mei, vroegoggend om 05:00 die koue trotseer en met groot opgewondenheid op die bus geklim vir ons sportdag teen Laerskool Cradock en Cradock Voorbereidingskool. Dit was ’n dag vol spanbou, deursettingsvermoë en uitstekende sportmangees. Al die spelers het hul harte uitgespeel en met Alie trots ons skool se naam hoog gehou. Baie dankie aan elke speler, afrigter en ondersteuner wat die dag so besonders gemaak het.
On Saturday, 9 May, our girls’ and boys’ hockey teams braved the cold at 05:00 in the morning as we climbed onto the bus, excited for an action-packed sports day against Cradock Primary School and Cradock Preparatory School. The day was filled with teamwork, determination, and great sportsmanship. Every player gave their best on the field and proudly represented our school with Alie passion and pride. A big thank you to all the players, coaches, and supporters who made the day so memorable.

On Friday, 8 May 2026, eight of our Cross-Country athletes attended their first league meeting of the season in Bloemfontein.
Vir sommige was dit selfs hul heel eerste liga ooit. Die wedloop het ‘n uitstekende grondslag gelê vir ons atlete en die ligas wat voorlê.

Maandag, 4 Mei, het ons seuns die eer gehad om hulle wedstrydklere formeel te ontvang. Hierdie geleentheid word vir die seuns gebied om hulle op ‘n spesiale manier geluk te wens met hulle posisie in ons skool se o/13A span.
Each player also received a goodiebag filled with socks, a hockey ball personalized with their names, team shirt, warm up top, keychain and a personalized water bottle. Their parents were also invited to attend this ceremony and take part in their children’s joy and excitement.
Al was dit ‘n baie nat en koue aand, was dit ook ‘n vreugdevolle en trotse aand vir elke speler. Baie dankie aan al die borge wat hierdie groot bederf aand vir ons seuns moontlik gemaak het en dankie ook aan Minette Hattingh vir die mooi foto’s.

FREE STATE DANCE AWARDS 2026
The Free State Dance Awards 2026 were held at the Scaena Theatre at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein on 1 – 2 May 2026. Twelve of our dancers qualified at the trials on the weekend of 17 – 18 April 2026. They got the chance to showcase their skills in ballet, hip hop, modern and musical theatre before esteemed judges. Dancers of ANPS enrolled at Riëtte’s Dance Studio did extremely well at this prestigious event. Their achievements reflect commendable dedication and skill within each discipline.
