LSAN RUGBY VS CRADOCK
Die afgelope naweek het ons rugbyspanne teen Laerskool Cradock en Cradock Voorbereidingskool kragte gemeet. Die wedstryde het in goeie gees plaasgevind en ons is dankbaar vir plattelandse skole wat vir ons wedstyde en gesonde kompetisie kan bied.
Although the scores weren’t in our favour, it is important to mention that our players showed character up to the final whistle.

Baie geluk aan Adriaan Vorster en NJ van Heerden wat gekies is om die Vrystaat Platteland o/11-span te verteenwoordig.

LAND SERVICE / LANDSDIENS
During Land Service on the 8th of April, the grade 4 and 5 Land Service members made bird feeders. The bird feeders were made from twigs, wool and carton. The children had to cut the carton into different shapes and hung it on a stick. They covered the carton with a mixture of bird food, flour and water. Ons Landsdieners het deur hierdie aktiwiteit gewys hoe hulle vir die natuur omgee.
The grade 6 and 7 Land Service boys made hot pot stands for Mother’s Day, which is around the corner. All the boys were very eager to start with this project, because they want to present the special women in their lives with something special, made with love. Terwyl die seuns buite besig was met hulle potstaanders, was die meisies in die saal besig om ‘n nuwe vaardigheid aan te leer.
Die graad 6- en 7-Landsdiensjuffrouens het almal in groepe verdeel en hulle aan brei, as ‘n vaardigheid, bekend gestel. Vanjaar se winterprojek gaan op hierdie vaardigheid fokus, want ons wil graag weer gebreide komberse aan behoeftige gesinne skenk. Even though everyone can’t knit a whole block yet, they all can at least start and knit a full row. The goal with teaching the girls how to knit, is for everyone to help knit squares so that we can make as many blankets as possible to give to the needy.
