RISING STARS HOKKIETOERNOOI
Vanaf 12 tot 14 Junie het die seuns- en meisieshokkiespelers van LSAN na Bloemfontein gereis om aan die jaarlikse Rising Stars Hokkietoernooi deel te neem. Hierdie toernooi word elke jaar ten bate van liefdadigheid aangebied en bied aan jong spelers die geleentheid om hul vaardighede teen sterk teenstand te meet.
Die wedstryde is op verskeie astrovelde regoor Bloemfontein gespeel. Met die aankoms en die aanskoue van die talle sterk spanne wat aan die toernooi deelgeneem het, moes die afrigters hul senuwees goed onder beheer hou. Die LSAN-spelers het egter gewys dat harde werk, deursettingsvermoë en spanwerk vrugte afwerp. Hulle het uitstekende hokkie gespeel en hulself deurentyd met trots onderskei.
For many of the players, it was a special experience to play all their games on Astro. The exposure to high-level hockey and the opportunity to compete against teams form different regions provided valuable experience. Throughout the tournament, high-quality hockey was played while good sportsmanship, respect and camaraderie were always clearly visible.
Een van die hoogtepunte van die naweek was die besonderse samehorigheid tussen die spelers. Die spangees was so sterk dat sommige ouers met byna leë motors terug Aliwal-Noord toe moes ry, omdat die spelers verkies het om saam met hul spanmaats te reis en die laaste oomblikke van die toer saam te geniet. PLATTELAND AFRIGTERS UIT ALIE-LAND
Baie geluk aan Mnr. André Buys wat aangewys is as die hoofafrigter van die o/13 Vrystaat Platteland-rugbyspan, asook aan Mnr. Christian van Zyl wat aangewys is as die hulpafrigter van die o/13 Vrystaat Platteland-rugbyspan.
INLAND HOCKEY CAPPING CEREMONY
The u/12 and u/13 Inland Hockey Capping Ceremony took place in Queenstown on Sunday. It was a wonderful and enjoyable occasion where players were officially recognised for their selection to the respective teams.

We are especially proud that Romè Botha was elected as captain of the u/12 team and Liwa Ndima as vice-captain.

VRYSTAAT PLATTELAND KLERE-OORHANDIGING
Op Vrydag, 5 Junie 2026, het die Vrystaat Platteland Rugby se klereoorhandiging in Brandfort plaasgevind. Spelers en ouers het hierdie spoggeleentheid bygewoon waartydens spelers hulle amptelike drag ontvang het. Ouers het met trots gekyk hoe hulle seuns die amptelike klere in ontvangs geneem het.
The highlight of the evening was an inspiring address by guest speaker André Tredoux, coach of the Shimla rugby team. He encouraged players to persevere, to work hard and to embrace teamwork.
He also said that it really is a privilege to represent your district, that each player must work hard and make the most of the opportunity presented to them.
LSAN was verteenwoordig deur Adriaan Vorster (o/13), Sphe Nkosi, Olamide Olaifa, Liyabona Makisi, Xhanti Gungqwa, Fernand Hatting, Ruben Greyvenstein (almal o/12), Jacobus Odendaal, Keegan Pfohl en Herman Lotriet (almal o/11).

ALIE-LAND FIREFIGHTERS
On Tuesday, 26 May, five staff members from LSAN attended a Basic Fire Training course. It was a very informative course, and the staff members acquired many new skills. Should a fire occur, our team will be ready to assist.
