LANDSDIENS
On Wednesday, 18 March 2026 our Gr.3-5 Land Service members had a lively and meaningful fun afternoon, filled with activities that not only entertained but also made a positive impact in the community.
Die eerste aktiwiteit van die dag het gefokus op omgee. Die kinders het met groot entoesiasme toebroodjies gesmeer en gepak, wat aan die iThemba-stigting geskenk was. Tydens hierdie aktiwiteit het Juffrou Retha Coetzee verduidelik hoe hierdie eenvoudige daad die vier liefdes van Landsdiens insluit: liefde vir die natuur, liefde vir God, liefde vir jou medemens en arbeid. Die kinders het ’n dieper begrip gekry van hoe klein dade ’n groot verskil kan maak.
The second activity brought laughter and excitement as the group participated in a colourful paint fight. Using syringes filled with paint made from cake flour, water, and food colouring, the children enjoyed a safe and creative way to express themselves. The vibrant splashes of colour created a joyful atmosphere and unforgettable memories.
The afternoon was a wonderful balance of service and fun, leaving everyone inspired and uplifted.
ITEC SPORT TOURNAMENT
RUGBY
LSAN ENJOYS SUCCESSFUL RUGBY TOUR IN BLOEMFONTEIN
LSAN learners participated in an exciting rugby tour from 25 to 27 March in Bloemfontein, where they competed against strong opposition at Laerskool Bloemfontein.
The u/11 team finished the tour on a high note after a tough start. On day one, they suffered a 32–5 defeat against Fichardt Park A. However, they bounced back impressively on day two with victories of 17–10 against Dagbreek A and 15–0 against Senekal A. On the final day, they continued their good form by defeating Laerskool Bloemfontein 22–12.
The u/13 team faced very strong competition throughout the tour. On day one, they lost 66–5 to Dagbreek A. Day two brought mixed results, with a 17–5 loss to ML Fick followed by a solid 31–17 win against Eureka. On the final day, they played against De Aar but unfortunately lost 36–0.
Despite the challenges, both teams gained valuable experience and showed great teamwork and determination. The tour not only improved their rugby skills but also strengthened team spirit and sportsmanship.
LSAN can be proud of their players’ commitment and attitude throughout the tour.
LSAN BELEEF SUKSESVOLLE RUGBYTOER IN BLOEMFONTEIN
Leerders van LSAN het van 25 tot 27 Maart aan ’n opwindende rugbytoer in Bloemfontein deelgeneem, waar hulle teen sterk teenstanders by Laerskool Bloemfontein kragte gemeet het.
Die o/11-span het die toer sterk afgesluit ná ’n moeilike begin. Op die eerste dag moes hulle die knie buig teen Fichardt Park A met 32–5. Die span het egter indrukwekkend teruggeveg op dag twee met oorwinnings van 17–10 teen Dagbreek A en 15–0 teen Senekal A. Op die laaste dag het hulle hul goeie vorm voortgesit deur Laerskool Bloemfontein met 22–12 te klop.
Die o/13-span het teen taai opposisie te staan gekom. Op dag een het hulle teen Dagbreek A verloor met 66–5. Dag twee het gemengde resultate opgelewer met ’n 17–5 nederlaag teen ML Fick, gevolg deur ’n sterk oorwinning van 31–17 teen Eureka. Op die laaste dag het hulle teen De Aar gespeel, maar ongelukkig 36–0 verloor.
Ten spyte van die uitdagings het beide spanne waardevolle ondervinding opgedoen en groot spanwerk en deursettingsvermoë getoon. Die toer het nie net rugbyvaardighede verbeter nie, maar ook spanbinding en sportgees versterk.
LSAN kan trots wees op hul spelers se toewyding en houding gedurende die toer.
NETBAL / NETBALL
Die o/12A- en o/13A-netbaldogters het vanaf 25 tot 27 Maart aan die ITEC-netbaltoernooi in Bloemfontein deelgeneem. Dit was vir die dogters ’n baie waardevolle ervaring waar hulle teen sterk spanne meegeding het en hul vaardighede verder kon ontwikkel. Die spangees, deursettingsvermoë en sportmangees wat deur die spelers getoon is, was besonders en ons is baie trots op elkeen se deelname en houding op en langs die baan.
Baie dankie aan Juffrou Nicole en Juffrou Coline wat die dogters tydens die toernooi vergesel en ondersteun het. Julle betrokkenheid en begeleiding het ’n groot bydrae tot die suksesvolle toer gelewer.

Ons skool se netbalspanne het op Saterdag, 11 April, aan wedstryde by verskeie skole in Bloemfontein deelgeneem. Dit was vir al ons spelers ‘n goeie ervaring en uitstekende voorbereiding vir die seisoen wat voorlê.
The players showed determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the day, and never backed down from a challenge.
Ons is baie trots op elke speler se houding en sportmangees. Baie dankie aan die afrigters en ouers vir hul ondersteuning en betrokkenheid. We are excited to see how our teams continue to develop in the upcoming matches.

ALIWAL o/9-SPAN TOON VEGGEES BY FAUNA-TOERNOOI
Die o/9-rugbyspan van Aliwal het die afgelope naweek aan ’n opwindende rugbytoernooi by Fauna Primêre Skool in Bloemfontein deelgeneem. Die jong spelers het deurgaans hul beste gelewer en uitstekende veggees op die veld getoon.
Aliwal het hul veldtog sterk begin met ’n oortuigende 19–0 oorwinning oor Sentraal. Die span het goeie samewerking en dissipline getoon, wat hulle in staat gestel het om die wedstryd te beheer.
In hul tweede wedstryd het Aliwal teen Fichardtpark (FHP) te staan gekom. Ten spyte van ’n dapper poging, moes hulle die knie buig met ’n telling van 7–14. Die span het egter waardevolle lesse uit dié wedstryd geleer.
Aliwal het vinnig herstel en hul derde wedstryd met selfvertroue aangepak, waar hulle Saints B oortuigend met 19–0 geklop het. Hierdie oorwinning het hul plek in die finaal verseker.
In die eindstryd het Aliwal teen ’n sterk Grey C-span te staan gekom. Alhoewel hulle alles gegee het, het Grey C uiteindelik met 10–0 geseëvier. Ten spyte van die nederlaag in die finaal, kan Aliwal trots wees op hul prestasie en die deursettingsvermoë wat hulle deur die toernooi getoon het.
Die afrigters en ondersteuners is trots op die span se harde werk en toewyding, en sien uit na nog suksesvolle wedstryde in die seisoen wat voorlê.
ALIWAL u/9 TEAM SHOWS GREAT FIGHTING SPIRIT AT FAUNA TOURNAMENT
The Aliwal u/9 rugby team took part in an exciting rugby tournament this past weekend at Fauna Primary School in Bloemfontein. The young players gave their all throughout the tournament and showed great determination on the field.
Aliwal started their campaign strongly with an impressive 19–0 victory over Sentraal. The team displayed excellent teamwork and discipline, allowing them to control the match.
In their second game, Aliwal faced Fichardt Park (FHP). Despite a brave effort, they narrowly lost 7–14. However, the team gained valuable experience from this match.
Aliwal bounced back confidently in their third game, defeating Saints B convincingly with a score of 19–0. This win secured their place in the final.
In the final, Aliwal came up against a strong Grey C side. Although they gave it their all, Grey C emerged victorious with a 10–0 win. Despite the loss, Aliwal can be proud of their performance and the resilience they showed throughout the tournament.
The coaches and supporters are proud of the team’s hard work and dedication, and look forward to more success in the season ahead.
ALIWAL o/8-SPAN WYS KARAKTER BY ONZE RUST-RUGBYDAG
Die o/8-rugbyspan van Aliwal het die afgelope naweek deelgeneem aan ’n rugbydag by Laerskool Onze Rust, waar die jong spelers hul vaardighede en deursettingsvermoë op die veld ten toon gestel het.
In hul openingswedstryd het Aliwal teen die gasheerspan, Onze Rust (OR), te staan gekom. Dit was ’n taai stryd tussen twee goed georganiseerde spanne, en die wedstryd het geëindig in ’n 0–0 gelykop uitslag.
Die tweede wedstryd teen Bloemfontein A (BFN A) was net so kompeterend, met beide spanne wat sterk verdediging gewys het. Weereens kon geen span punte aanteken nie, en die wedstryd het 0–0 geëindig.
Aliwal het hul derde wedstryd teen Saints gespeel en daarin geslaag om die enigste drie van die dag te druk, wat hulle ’n welverdiende 1–0 oorwinning besorg het.
In hul laaste wedstryd het Aliwal teen Willem Postma (WP) te staan gekom. Dit was nóg ’n strawwe wedstryd, met uitstekende verdediging aan beide kante, en die wedstryd het weer 0–0 geëindig.
Die span het deurgaans groot veggees, dissipline en spanwerk getoon. Die afrigters is trots op die spelers se ontwikkeling en sien uit na verdere groei in die seisoen wat voorlê.
ALIWAL u/8 TEAM SHOWS CHARACTER AT ONZE RUST RUGBY DAY
The Aliwal u/8 rugby team took part in a rugby day at Onze Rust Primary School this past weekend, where the young players showcased their skills and determination on the field.
In their opening match, Aliwal faced the host team, Onze Rust (OR). It was a tough contest between two well-organised sides, ending in a 0–0 draw.
The second match against Bloemfontein A (BFN A) was equally competitive, with both teams displaying strong defence. Once again, neither side managed to score, and the game ended 0–0.
Aliwal found their breakthrough in the third match against Saints, scoring the only try of the day to secure a 1–0 victory.
In their final match, Aliwal played against Willem Postma (WP). It was another hard-fought game with excellent defence from both teams, resulting in a 0–0 draw.
The team showed great determination, discipline, and teamwork throughout the day. Coaches are proud of the players’ development and look forward to their continued growth during the season.

Die o/7-rugbyspan van LSAN het die afgelope naweek aan ’n opwindende rugbydag by Universitas Primêre Skool deelgeneem. Die jong spelers het hul talent en entoesiasme getoon en deurgaans goeie spel gelewer.
LSAN het hul veldtog begin met ’n stewige vertoning teen President Brand. Beide spanne het sterk verdediging getoon, wat gelei het tot ’n 0–0 gelykopuitslag.
In hul tweede wedstryd het LSAN teen Sand du Plessis gespeel. Die span het mooi samewerking getoon en daarin geslaag om die enigste drie van die wedstryd aan te teken, wat hulle ’n 1–0 oorwinning besorg het.
Die laaste wedstryd teen Onze Rust was weer ’n spannende affêre. LSAN het hul momentum behou en nóg ’n drie gedruk om die wedstryd met 1–0 te wen.

In their second match, LSAN faced Sand du Plessis. The team showed good teamwork and managed to score the only try of the game, securing a 1–0 victory.
In their final match against Onze Rust, LSAN maintained their momentum and scored another try to claim a 1–0 win.
The team demonstrated excellent teamwork, discipline, and fighting spirit throughout the day. The coaches are proud of the players’ progress and look forward to a promising season ahead.

Die o/13-rugbyspan van LSAN het die afgelope naweek aan ’n mededingende wedstryd by Grey College deelgeneem, waar hulle teen ’n sterk Willem Postma-span te staan gekom het.
LSAN het van die begin af goeie intensiteit getoon en nie teruggedeins nie. Die span het hard gewerk op aanval en verdediging, en daarin geslaag om 15 punte aan te teken teen hul opponente.
Willem Postma het egter hul geleenthede goed benut en uiteindelik met ’n telling van 27–15 geseëvier. Ten spyte van die nederlaag, het LSAN deurgaans groot veggees en karakter getoon.
Die wedstryd het waardevolle ondervinding gebied vir die span, en die afrigters is tevrede met die spelers se toewyding en poging. Daar word uitgesien na verdere verbetering en sterk vertonings in die res van die seisoen.
LSAN u/13 Team Shows Determination Against Willem Postma at Grey College
The LSAN u/13 rugby team took part in a competitive match at Grey College this past weekend, where they faced a strong Willem Postma side.
LSAN showed great intensity from the start and did not back down. The team worked hard on both attack and defence, managing to score 15 points against their opponents.
Willem Postma made good use of their opportunities and ultimately secured a 27–15 victory. Despite the loss, LSAN displayed great fighting spirit and character throughout the match.
The game provided valuable experience for the team, and the coaches are pleased with the players’ commitment and effort. They look forward to continued improvement and strong performances in the rest of the season.
