Aliwal-Noord en Burgersdorp bied opwindende Interskole op 2 Augustus 2025
NETBAL:
Laerskool Aliwal-Noord het Saterdag, 2 Augustus, hul jaarlikse interskole teen Burgersdorp gespeel – hierdie jaar in Burgersdorp. The day was filled with spirit, teamwork, and fierce competition as both schools gave it their all on the court.
Die kompetisie was van hoogstaande gehalte en elke span het alles ingesit. One of the highlights of the day was the intense and thrilling match between the o/13 A netball teams. It was a nail-biting game with both teams showing exceptional skill and determination. Although our girls fought hard, Burgersdorp clinched the win with a narrow 18-15 victory.

Despite a few tough losses, Aliwal-North’s netball teams showed true sportsmanship and school pride. Dit was ‘n wonderlike dag van gemeenskapsgees, vriendskap en sportmanskap. Well done to all our players and coaches – julle het ons trots gemaak!
RUGBY:
Interskole wedstryde is altyd hard en soms genadeloos. Hierdie jaar was dit ook nie anders nie. Ongelukkig het net die o/7 A’s en o/9 A’s as oorwinnaars van die veld gestap. Die 2 o/11 wedstryde is met ‘n klein punte verskil verloor.
The u/13A’s was involved in an epic battle with the Burgersdorp team that was the favourites. In the end it was a draw, a true reflection of the match.

HOKKIE:
Op Saterdag, 2 Augustus, het Alies en Blikkies mekaar die stryd aangesê tydens ons jaarlikse interskole. With high energy levels players went on the field and gave their best. Die dag het hope pret en goeie sportmanskap ingesluit. We are very proud of each player and the way they played the game. Ons is dankbaar vir elke ondersteuner wat in goeie gees ons kom ondersteun het.

ONS-GEE-OM LANDSDIENS
Ons Landsdiensklub gee werklik om vir ons omgewing en gemeenskap. Die graad 4 Landsdieners het by die vorige Landsdiensmiddag proppies vir ons proppie-projek sorteer. Hulle sien al lank uit om deel te wees van hierdie projek.
This project forms part of a National Land Service project, where we sort and send bottle tops to the Sweethearts Foundation. This foundation donates wheelchairs to people in need. Our school are a proud drop-off point for all surrounding schools and towns.
Ons Graad 5 Landsdiensmaats het hulle liefde vir arbeid bewys en hande gevat met Aliwal Museum om ñ drom af te skuur en te verf. The boys sanded the drum and the girls painted the first layer. We will continue painting at our next Land Service afternoon.
Die museum gaan hierdie drom by een van die erfenisterreine in Aliwal gebruik in ñ poging om besoedeling te bekamp.
Die graad 6 en 7 Landsdienslede het ‘n opwindende en geesdriftige middag beleef ter voorbereiding vir ons komende Interskole teen Burgersdorp.
The Land service members were divided into four groups and took part in a fun-filled program designed to build team spirit and unity. Each group had the task of creating a war cry for their team, to showcase their school pride and enthusiasm.
Daarna het die spanne mekaar uitgedaag in vriendelike netbalwedstryde, waar daar hard, maar met goeie sportmangees, meegeding is. Die baan was vol energie, lag en opwinding, terwyl die jong landsdienslede hul beste gegee het, nie net op die baan nie, maar ook met hul kreatiewe krete.
The afternoon was not only a warm-up for Interschools but also a reminder of the value of community, co-operation, and pride in their school. The learners proved that they are ready to represent Aliwal North with dignity – both on and off the sports field.
Die Graad 3 landsdieners het geleer om vir hul medemens om te gee. Hulle het kaartjies gemaak om Vrouedag te vier, wat om die draai is.
These members were very creative and used the most beautiful colours to decorate their cards.
