RISING STARS HOKKIETOERNOOI
From 13-15 June, the ANPS hockey boys and girls went to Bloemfontein in spite of the icy cold weather to take part in the Rising Stars hockey tournament. Die toernooi word elke jaar vir liefdadigheid gehou, hierdie jaar is dit gehou ten bate van die Lesedi Educare and Therapea Kids (Place of safety for girls).
The tournament was held at different venues on astro turfs.
The coaches had to hide their anxiety when they saw all the strong teams that they had to compete against. Die hokkiespelers speel PRAG-hokkie.
Dit was ‘n wonderlike geleentheid vir die spelers om al hul wedstryde op die astro te kon speel. Uitstekende spel is deurgaans gelewer en goeie sportmanskap was aan die orde van die dag. Die samehorigheid onder die spelers was van so aard dat sommige ouers met leë motors moes terugry Aliwal toe, omdat die dogters nie hul spanmaats wou “los” nie.
