LANDSDIENS: WINTERPROJEK / LAND SERVICE: WINTER PROJECT

Aliwal North Primary School’s Land Service Club took on a winter project for this year. Our Woolly Winter Warmth project involved collecting winter clothes and knitted or crocheted squares to make blankets. The end goal was to donate the blankets to charity.

During the Land Service afternoon on Monday, 5 August, our club completed one of the first tasks of our winter project. We donated winter clothes to our local CMR.

Our Land Service Club members should be very proud of themselves because most of our members acquired these skills for the first time this year. This project and these new skills seemed a bit daunting to our members but with lots of help from teachers and parents, the learners started to grasp these new skills and one by one started to knit or crochet squares.

We also want to congratulate our winners of the competition; Mehandri Leibbrand, Nika Van Zyl, Elizna Peyper and Romé Botha.
