rugby

Rugby at ANPS is an extra-curricular activity, offered by the school, for all the boys.  The coaches act as mentors for every young boy, establishing special bond during the hard practices during the season.

Aims;

  • To introduce the boys to rugby and cultivate a love for the game
  • To teach and practise basic skills
  • To introduce children to the fun of a team sport
  • To encourage personal growth and development
  • To provide the opportunity to every player to develop his own identity on the rugby field

How does it work?

  • Players participate in their age groups: U/7 (Buffeltjies), U/9, U/11 and U/13
  • Coaches choose the teams for every age group
  • U/12 and U/13 get the opportunity to be selected for the Free State Country Districts Team as well as participate in the Free State trials.
