We are privileged to have a team of dedicated and capable coaches at Aliwal North Primary School.  Athletics is therefore thriving at our school.

An annual inter colour meeting is held during January of each year where our three houses: Blue, Red and Yellow where all our learners have the opportunity to participate against each other.

A team is then selected to participate against all the other primary schools in Aliwal North at the townal meeting.

After the townal meeting in Aliwal North, a team is selected to participate in a CMC meeting against other schools in the Senqu region.  Athletes that qualify there then participate in the Joe Gqabi meeting against athletes from other CMC regions.

A Joe Gqabi team is then selected to represent the region at the Eastern Cape Athletics meeting, where an Eastern Cape team is selected.

Athletes selected for the Eastern Cape team represents the Eastern Cape at the South African Schools Athletic Championships (SASA).

ANPS contributes a good number of athletes to participate in the South African championships every year. In 2022 we had no less than 10 athletes qualifying to represent the Eastern Cape at the SA’S.
