At Aliwal North Primary School, we strive to provide each learner with a textbook in each subject. Unfortunately, we have been classified as a quintile 5 school, which means that we receive very little financial help from the Department. We thus have to budget to buy textbooks from our school fund.  Each learner will therefore be held responsible for the textbooks they receive and has to replace damaged and lost books.  Subject teachers keep record of the textbooks.

At the end of the year learners receive a list of stationery needed for the next year.  Parents can decide where they want to buy the stationery, or can buy a package from the school, which will contain everything needed.
